Choosing the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type is equally as important as choosing the right skincare for your skin type. If you’re using the wrong shampoo and conditioner for you, you’re not going to get the best results for your hair.
First of all, I believe everyone needs a clarifying shampoo. This is to deep clean your scalp and roots. It’s not to be used for every wash as it is quite drying. You need to use a clarifying shampoo to remove any product build up or excessive oil production. This could be once a week or twice a month. It completely depends on your hair type and how often it feels greasy or weighed down.

Now, let’s discuss shampoo. Shampoo is designed to clean your scalp and hair by the roots. Therefore, you need to choose a shampoo based on what your scalp and roots are like. If you have a dry scalp you need to choose something that is hydrating and moisturising. If you’re roots get greasy quickly you need to choose a shampoo that is balancing or detoxifying. My top pick shampoos are:
Dry or flaky scalp - https://tidd.ly/3Bi7jhH
Fine hair – https://tidd.ly/4e7mgBM
Normal/dry hair - https://tidd.ly/3QltFDP

For conditioner, this is designed to treat the ends of your hair. So, you need to choose your conditioner based on what the ends of your hair are like. If you have dry, damaged or frizzy ends you need conditioner that is smoothing, hydrating and deep conditioning. If your hair is quite silky and fine you need a conditioner that is light weight. A lot of people with fine hair skip conditioner but this can cause static and frizz so using a little of the correct conditioner will really make a difference. My top picks are:

Coloured hair - https://tidd.ly/3Xyjn5Y
Dry, damaged or frizzy hair - https://tidd.ly/3ZI3dtN

Side note – you don’t need to use the same brand for shampoo and conditioner. Choose based on your hair type.
