Selecting the appropriate shampoo and conditioner for your hair type is just as crucial as choosing the right skincare products for your skin type. Using the incorrect shampoo and conditioner will not get optimal results for your hair.

Initially, I think it's important for everyone to have a clarifying shampoo. Its purpose is to thoroughly cleanse your scalp and roots. It's not meant to be used every time you wash your hair because it can be very drying. A clarifying shampoo should be used to eliminate any buildup of products or excess oil. This could be done once a week or every two weeks. The frequency depends entirely on your hair type and how frequently it becomes oily or heavy.

My two favourites are:

Next, we will talk about shampoo. Shampoo is formulated to cleanse both your scalp and hair starting from the roots. Hence, it is important to select a shampoo that suits the condition of your scalp and roots. If you have a dry scalp, opt for a hydrating and moisturising shampoo. If your roots tend to get greasy fast, go for a shampoo that is balancing or detoxifying. Here are my recommended shampoos:

When it comes to conditioner, it is specifically formulated to address the condition of the hair ends. Therefore, it is important to select a conditioner that suits the condition of your hair ends. If your ends are dry, damaged, or frizzy, opt for a smoothing, hydrating, and deep conditioning conditioner. On the other hand, if your hair ends are silky and fine, go for a lightweight conditioner. While some individuals with fine hair tend to avoid using conditioner, doing so can lead to static and frizz. Applying a small amount of the appropriate conditioner can significantly improve the situation. Here are my top recommendations:

Coloured hair - https://tidd.ly/3Xyjn5Y

Dry, damaged or frizzy hair - https://tidd.ly/3ZI3dtN

Side note – you don’t need to use the same brand for shampoo and conditioner. Choose based on your hair type instead.
