Curious about the time to begin hair and makeup preparations on your wedding day? Looking to ensure a peaceful and seamless wedding morning?
Here’s my breakdown for you:
You need to be fully finished in hair and makeup at least 1 hour before your ceremony time or registrar meeting (you may need to extend this if you have to travel to your ceremony) This may seem like a long time but please trust me, it takes longer than you think and that last hour goes so quickly and can feel quite rushed.
A brides hair normally takes 1 hour - 1 hour 15 minutes. This can alter slightly depending on your hair type and what style you choose.
Bridesmaids/Mums/Other guests normally take about 45 mins each.
Final checks are carried out once your dresses are on. Once I’ve done a final check of your hair and made any tweaks, I will fit your veil.
It’s always best to check your timings with each supplier (especially hair, makeup and photographer/videographer) this will ensure that your wedding morning runs smoothly, you have plenty of time and won’t be rushed. It’s important that the timings don’t clash as this could make you late.
I will go through timings with you at your hair trial and I always get my brides to double check the timings with their other suppliers before the big day.
An example of a wedding morning timings:
Ceremony time 1pm
8.45am - 9.30am Mother of Bride
9.30am - 10.15am Bridesmaid 1
10.15am - 11am Bridesmaid 2
11am - 12pm Bride
12pm Dresses on, final checks and veil
