How to protect your hair from unnecessary damage

Here are my 5 top tips to help prevent hair damage:

1.    As mentioned in my ‘Heat Reduction and Heat Protection’ blog I recommend leaving your hair to air dry to about 80%. This way you’ll need to use less heat on your hair which in turn leads to less damage.

2.    It’s important to brush your hair carefully after washing it, especially if it tends to knot and tangle, to reduce damage to your hair. I always use a wide tooth comb like this one from Brushworkshttps://tidd.ly/3JF5I6w when I first get out of the shower. It gently removes any tangles with very little damage.

3.    Avoid tying your hair up in tight elastics (especially to sleep in) as they can cause your hair to snap and become uneven. Instead swap for a silk or satin bobble like these https://tidd.ly/3Tz7trg  or a claw type clip like these https://tidd.ly/4ennkSx

4.    Swap your hair towel for a hair wrap. Me and my little girls love these ones https://tidd.ly/4ddTluJ

5.    If you want to really treat yourself, invest in a silk pillow https://tidd.ly/4dcPEFN
