Here I will answer the most asked questions about hair trials:
When will it be?
I recommend that your hair trial takes place about 2 – 3 months before your wedding day. This gives enough time before your wedding to make any necessary changes to your hair (trim, face framing pieces etc) but also gives us a good idea of the length of your hair on your wedding day. Therefore, when we trial a style out, we can see whether it works with your hair.
How long will it take?
I book out 2-hour slots. Some people only need an hour, and some people need the full two hours. This depends on a few things – hair type and length, the style you choose and if you want to try a couple of styles.
How do I book my hair trial?
Around 5 – 6 months before your wedding day I will send you a booking link with my available appointments. You just follow the link and choose the right time and day that suits you.
Do I need to do anything before my trial?
It’s a good idea to go back and read through my Hair prep blog https://www.louisedelaneybridalhair.com/post/prep-like-a-queen and Choosing the right hairstyle blog https://www.louisedelaneybridalhair.com/post/choosing-the-right-hairstyle-for-your-wedding-day
These will outline how to prepare your hair before your trial and the things you need to consider before your trial.
What happens at the trial?
This is the first time we will meet so it’s a chance for us to get to know each other. I will ask you to show me some inspiration pictures of the styles that you like, and we’ll discuss how you want your hair styling. I will style your hair and check in throughout the styling to make sure your happy with how it’s coming together. When I’m finished styling, I will take some pictures and videos of your hair from different angles, which I will send onto you. After this, we will play with hair accessories and veil placement in your hair, so we know exactly what looks best.
The trial is there for you to test a style out on your hair, sometimes what looks amazing on someone else’s hair may not suit your hair type. I will guide and advise you using my expertise and with your honest feedback and what you like and don’t like, we will get your hair looking perfect.
What if I change my mind?
It is perfectly normal to change your mind about your hairstyle and it’s absolutely fine. Just get in touch and let me know. If I feel like we need another trial, we can get this arranged. I always encourage my brides that are torn between a couple of styles to discuss this at the beginning of the trial. I can usually (depending on the styles chosen) do both styles for you at your trial.
I hope you’ve found this helpful! If you have anything else you would like to ask, please get in touch louisedelaneybridalhair@outlook.com
